Consolidation of Subject Areas
OTBI subject areas are NOT user friendly and hard to navigate. The way it is set up now forces a lot more reliance on data models and reports.
When I try to create an analysis, it is far too easy to select the incorrect subject area. It is also very confusing when there are very similar subject areas (example: Payables Invoices - Transactions Real Time and Payables Payments - Disbursements Real Time). They both house very similar data but are missing components that are requested to support my work.
Example - I am creating an analysis that focuses on purchase orders/requisitions for a particular department. They want to see the purchase order, supplier, invoice, invoice date, invoice amount, paid amount, payment date, and account code. This information does not exist within one subject area, I have to create a data model and report in order to have all of that applicable information, which can be a lot of work to get the correct information.
