Business Requirement
Display numeric values with contextual suffixes like pts or x (e.g., 12 pts, 3x) for specific rows/measures.
Requirement is strictly visual — no impact on calculations/column values for our use case.
Specific Use Case (here custom column header option doesn't suffice)
We’ve created a workbook for a business-facing workbook using free-form layout to meet specific design requirements. In this layout, each row represents a separate measure, and we need the ability to append custom suffixes like "pts" or "x" directly to the numerical values of specific rows.
Text box workaround (below screenshot), since cell alignment option isn't available, text box option only works as prefix instead of a suffix.
Local Currency workaround (below screenshot), accepts upper case only, also only works as prefix instead of a suffix.
Current Blocker
There is no existing front-end option that allows us to append custom suffixes to specific measure values.
Proposed Enhancement
Currently, DV supports only four number format options: Auto, Number, Currency, and Percent.
We'd like to request the addition of Pts and x as selectable formats or even better a free form custom format option.
Impact
This is a business-critical workbook(s) with a high level of visibility by multiple Executives. Also, manual workarounds are not scalable and introduce risk of visual inconsistency.
