Attribute-Based Values in FDI Pivots
The Ask
We'd like to propose an enhancement for Data Visualization (DV) within Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI). Specifically, we're requesting the ability to use an attribute (dimension) directly in the Values section of a pivot table, rather than being restricted to only measures.
The Rationale
This functionality is already available and frequently used in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI). Currently, in DV in FDI, if we drag an attribute into the Values section, it doesn't allow it. This creates an inconsistency with OTBI's behavior and limits the flexibility of data exploration directly within DV.
The Benefit
Adding this feature to DV in FDI would significantly enhance its analytical capabilities and user experience by:
Aligning with OTBI functionality: Providing a consistent experience for users transitioning between OTBI and FDI/DV.
Expanding analytical flexibility: Enabling a broader range of direct data aggregations within pivot tables.
Reducing complexity: Eliminating the need for users to create redundant measures for simple counting scenarios.
We believe this feature would be a valuable addition to making DV in FDI a more robust and intuitive tool for data analysis.
