Show historical Department details in FDI

Currently, the FDI extracts only the latest active department record, regardless of the effective date context. This creates a misalignment with Fusion application screens, which display department data based on the selected effective/as-of date. As a result, reports generated through FDI may not accurately reflect what users see in Fusion, leading to confusion, data integrity concerns, and potential misinterpretation of organizational structures over time.
To improve reporting accuracy and ensure consistency between Fusion and FDI outputs, we propose an enhancement to FDI that enables extraction of department records based on the effective/as-of date—mirroring Fusion’s behavior. This change would:
- Ensure data consistency across platforms
- Improve trust and usability of reports for end users
- Support historical and point-in-time analysis for audit and compliance purposes
- Align FDI functionality with Fusion’s core data presentation logic
We believe this enhancement would significantly improve the value and reliability of FDI for organizations relying on accurate, time-sensitive reporting.
