Enhanced Transaction Approval Audit and Monitoring Report in HCM

We would like to request a pre-built, comprehensive report or a new standard data source within Oracle HCM Cloud that allows users to monitor and audit transaction approval history effectively.

Currently, our organization faces significant challenges in generating a complete and reliable report on approval transaction events (past and present) through custom reporting tools. Developers have invested considerable time without success due to the apparent lack of sufficient or well-documented official data sources for this purpose.

The requested report is essential for two main business needs:

• Auditing Requirements: Provide a complete historical record of all approval-related activities for compliance and audit purposes.
• User Visibility: Offer real-time visibility into the current status of pending approvals for users without access to the Transaction Console interface. This is crucial when the standard user interface does not adequately display the approval status.

Key Required Features (The report must be able to track and clearly display the following events):

• Transaction Status: Current status (e.g., Pending, Approved, Rejected, Error).
• Approval Lifecycle Events: Track all intermediate actions, including:
  • Escalations
  • Reassignments
  • Returns (e.g., to the initiator or additional information requests)
  • Withdrawals
  • System/Rule-Based Events (e.g., auto-approval, notification failures).
• Date/Time Stamps: Accurate timestamps for all events.
• Actor Information: The user who performed the action (e.g., Approver, Reassignee, Initiator).
• Comments/Justifications: Capture any comments provided during the approval/rejection process.
• Transaction Details: Link back to the original transaction details (e.g., Transaction Name, Initiator, Date).

The current complexity in building a custom report results in high development cost and unreliable audit data. A reliable out-of-the-box solution is necessary to:

• Ensure Compliance: Meet regulatory and internal audit demands quickly and accurately.
• Improve User Experience: Empower users with the information they need without needing elevated access to the Transaction Console.
• Reduce IT Burden: Free up valuable developer time currently spent trying to reverse-engineer data structures.
• Increase Transparency: Provide clear, easily interpretable approval trails, eliminating the need to reconcile data with the complex Transaction Console UI.
