Hello Expert,
I'm learning BIP, and I want to learn how to use Flexfield in an Oracle BIP parameter. Can anyone explain end to end with an example.
Hello - have you looked at the documentation? Have you search the forum?
What have you found and what are the gaps? Does this not answer your question? https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/discussion/24032/how-restrict-custom-bi-report-data-based-on-flexfield-segment-value?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=BIP+FLEXFIELD
Here is a very nice and simple document from Oracle Support with end to end example
Oracle Fusion Recruiting Cloud: BIP: How to Display a Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) in the Requisition Approval Notification (Doc ID 2671843.1)
Hope it helps!
Hi Flying,
Welcome to Oracle Analytics community.
You don't need any special steps to display flexfields in BIP. Once the DFF attribute is configured, relevant table column will be populated with data. You can then write a simple SQL statement to display data from that DFF field in your parameter.
Or if your question is something different, please provide some more details on your requirements.
Thanks,
Mandeep.
If you are talking about Flexfields available on Data model screen, please go through the below documentation:
6 Adding Flexfields
Thanks.
Hi @MandeepGupta ,
I want to learn about Flexfields in the Data Model. It seems the Oracle documents are not beginner-friendly. Could you please share your experience here
