Idea Summary: Introduce the capability to define Descriptive Flexfields (DFFs) at the level where Receipt Methods are assigned to Customer Accounts in Oracle Cloud Receivables, consistent with the equivalent functionality available in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).
Detailed Requirement: There is a need to capture additional custom attributes specific to individual Receipt Methods within Oracle Cloud Receivables. The key considerations driving this requirement are as follows:
- Multiple Receipt Methods may be simultaneously active at any given point in time, each having its own distinct set of attributes to be defined and maintained independently.
- Each Receipt Method has unique attribute requirements that cannot be generalized or shared across other methods, making method-level configuration essential.
- Certain attributes have dependencies on upstream systems and customer onboarding tools, requiring seamless integration and attribute-level flexibility at the Receipt Method level.
Business Impact - Additional attributes need to be defined at Global DFF level, which are limited in number. One Receipt Method will be active at one point in time requiring atleast 6 attributes to be consumed. With a total volume of around 3.5 M customer accounts with average 3-5 active receipt methods, a viable out of the box solution needed to meet the requirement.
Expected Solution - Provide DFF at Receipt Method at Customer level.
Justification -
- Aligns with Oracle Cloud Capabilities
- Reduces dependency on custom workarounds
- This is a common requirement for customers migrating from EBS expecting similar configurability in Oracle Cloud.
This enhancement would significantly benefit organizations transitioning from Oracle EBS to Oracle Cloud by preserving existing functional capabilities and ensuring continuity in Receivables configuration and processing.
