Oracle Analytics Server 2026 - Date format is showing "Unicode Char" on terminal

Question

We've recently upgraded Oracle Analytics Sever from 8.2 to version 26.01.

We noticed that when date is displayed on Unix terminal, its showing extra character like in attached image. How this can be fixed, is there any document or note provide information on date format changes in 2026?

If that didn't work then it isn't a locale/decoding issue. The next thing to look at is the font used, as it might not havea printable character for the coding, so it renderers placeholder box instead.

if you're using Putty, switch the font to a font with broader Unicode coverage.  Under Windows→Appearance→Font change it to something line Consolas, Cascadia Mono, DejaVu Sans Mono, etc.  Also check Window→Translation→Remote Character set  is set to UTF-8

LANG was already set in our environment.  LC_ALL was blank, set this to suggested value and checked issue - still getting same output

change it using

export LANG=en_US.UTF-8

export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8

test the output display again.

if it worked you can change the change permanent by changing the ~ /.bash_profile
