it is observed that in OAC while using case statements the output is not expected.For example if we have a case statment like

case when

table1.column1=table2.column1 then 'yes'

else 'No'

end as Attribute1

Now if i use this attribute with a fact-amount column

attribute 1|| Amount on a report then we dont get the aggregation done properly and it does not give correct amount for yes and no attribute

The same things works ina dataset fine.

is this a known limitation or do you have any suggestions on this?

There seem to be lot of implicit things going on in your case, but your post is quite generic and "high level".

You have logs for everything, query don't happen in a hidden way, they are logged. Your formulas, expression, whether it is a DV workbook or a "classic" analysis are part of the LSQL query and then part of the physical queries pushed down to the sources.

Check the logs, you will see exactly what happen, and that has good chances to tell you exactly why you see what you see.
