Create object or fixed formula in OBIEE

Hi Team,

I have a column formula which is being used across multiple reports (i have created the same formula across multiple reports)

Now whenever there is a change in the formula, it has to be replicated across all reports which is difficult.

Is there a way through which we can create it once and reference it across all reports.

So that we just have to modify it once.

I tried creating a presentation variable and tried to pass it into the column formula but getting 0 in my results

Any idea how to achieve this?

So these calculated columns then become re-usable webcat objects like filters, actions, analyses,....

In 11g, the only way of doing this is to create this column in the repository for reuse elsewhere. In 12c however, you have the option of saving a column formula in the same way you can save a filter and reuse in other reports for instance.

My OBI version is 11.1.1.7.14

I don't see this option so is this related to security privileges?
i guess i only have BI author credentials

It didn't existed back in in 11.1.1.7 (14? that one is supposed to be a 6 digits bundle patch date).

The best option for your version is to add that formula to the RPD directly and use the new column instead.

what is RPD? is it column repository?

RPD is the repository containing all the "logic" (physical sources, business models and what you expose in subject areas).

As "Author" you can't access it, it's more a admin role accessing it.

For you there is option A) do it in the RPD or option upgrade to a more recent release.

14 just means he's on one of the 2014 BPs but since he's on .7 it's irrelevant as it doesn't exist.

Mind you there's a lot more to OBI than just that so better get a proper training
