OBIEE Agent not resolving group members

Question

Hi,

We are trying to send dashboard page to users using OBIEE (12.2.1.3.0) agent based on their role.

Our security is set up in following manner:

* users are held in Active Direcotry (ActiveDirectoryProvider)
* groups are held in database (BISQLProvider)

When we log in WebLogic Server Administration Console, under Users and groups we can see users and groups from AD and groups from database.

When we log in OBIEE, under My account we can see user's roles (from database) as well as his email (from AD).

Security has been working fine.

If we specify users as agent's recipients it works just fine, but if we set role as recipient and that role has group from database as a member it doesn't send anything and agent finishes with no error.

Any idea what could be the cause?

Well if the AD ones work then that's definitely a red flag!

Yes, it's quite specific. What makes me wonder even more is that if a role contains AD group that also works fine.

We wanted to try community first  if we don't find a solution in few weeks from now we will probabbly raise SR.

I haven't run into this myself yet but the use case sounds interesting and unfortunately specific enough to suggest a bug. Have you already opened an SR? At the moment there isn't anything I could find which is already known or hinted at on MOS.
