OBIEE 10g "Unable to Log In" using LDAP user
Hi,
I have an OBIEE 10g environment and deployed presentation to WebLogic server
I set up MSAD in RPD via admin tool (online) by following steps in link:
Srinivasan Software Solutions : [OBIEE 10g] Security -- LDAP Authentication
Steps:
- Create LDAP Server: MSAD port 3268 -> test connection: OK
- Create Init Block: Auth_MSAD, variable: USER, sAMAccountName -> test login: OK
- Check 'Required for authentication'
- Import User and add to Administrator group
- Save and check global consistency
After restarting all services, i tried to log in to analytics using MSAD user ID but failed:
Unable to Log In
An invalid User Name or Password was entered
However I'm able to login using Administrator. Any one have some idea?
Appreciate the help as always
Many Thanks

10g? I think it would be time to think about upgrading.
a) 10g was replaced by 11g 8 years ago
b) You are out of support
c) You are maneuvering yourself into a dead end where even upgrading becomes a terrible pain since you're just so extremely behind on everything

Hi Christian,
Appreciate your suggestion to upgrade
I'm fully aware 10g is a very old software and is way to far from its end of life, but there is, lamentably, nothing I can do if my client insisted not to
Btw, I found out the root cause: I should not import the user in RPD
Hopefully can help anyone who have the same fate, ̶e̶̶̶v̶̶̶e̶̶̶n̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶o̶̶̶u̶̶̶g̶̶̶h̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶'̶̶̶m̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶n̶̶̶l̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶n̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶l̶̶̶e̶̶̶f̶̶̶t̶̶̶
Thanks once again!

Is this a $$$ thing?

If it is about the $$$ then it is the wrongest conceivable choice.
Like not repairing your roof for 50'000 and then it comes crashing down and it costs 1'000'000 to rebuild.
But very, very typical mangement thinking.
