Can .csv files be used as source to OBIEE RPD and Reports?
I am trying to import the CSV file trough the OBIEE RPD and use this as source for Reporting, Instead of going via database.
How can I do this in 12C. Also with any updates in files should also be auto update in obiee reports.
If anyone has done this, pls help.
regards,
Abinash

@obiee that isn't necessary anymore at all. That's why Oracle invented the External Data Set concept and the Data Set Service and Storage.

Thank You @christian!!
This article is really good. Unfortunately I don't have VA license with my 12C package. In this case how should I go ahead??

Either buy DV/VA - which is anyways the direction the product is moving - or use BI Publisher or put the CSV as a source into the RPD.
Just don't expect any magic with regards to your initial demand for "Also with any updates in files should also be auto update in obiee reports.".

Thank You Christian, I was expecting the same.

If you have a local Oracle database that could be used in conjunction in OBIEE then you also have the option of using external table functionality, there if the source file changes the data changes, but I have not tested performance on this with larger data sets.

can you share some reference meta links for implementing this, if you have.?
