Compare On-Premise OBIEE12c data with Oracle OAC using Baseline Validatio Tool(BVT)

Hello,

One of our client has OBIEE12c in on-premise. They want to migrate from OBIEE12c on-premise to Oracle OAC.

They want to make sure that OBIEE12c on-premise data matches with Oracle OAC data after migration as both point to the same database.

Can we use Baseline Validation Tool(BVT) to compare OBIEE12c in on-premise data with Oracle OAC?

If Yes, how do we do it.

Of course, that's what BVT has been developed for originally: pre-post migration regression testing.

How?

Download BVT and use it. There are bunch of resources about how to use BVT.

I can setup the BVT in the environment where On-Premise OBIEE12c is installed and run for OBIE12c first, and then run for OAC and compare the results?

BVT can connect to on-premises instances and also to OAC (the very first wasn't able to do it because it was targeting OBIEE 11g to 12c upgrades, following releases added this support).

You can run BVT from where you want, it doesn't need to be the OBIEE server. BVT connects to OBIEE/OAC just like you do yourself in a browser: it does a web connection for all it's tasks.

As far as I know not, and https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocContentDisplay?id=2072347.1 has a note saying it isn't supported on OAS.

Did you find any solution to the BVT in OAS . IF yes , could you suggest what was the approach. We are in the phase of upgrading and this was a disappointing thing to find out that the BVT is no morein OAS.

You resurrected 3 old threads at least related to BVT.

BVT is gone, doesn’t exist anymore, it has been decommissioned and removed fully from everywhere.

It wasn’t built for an OBIEE to OAS upgraded, it was built to support a move to the cloud.

How did you validate your OBIEE upgrades so far? Do the same with OAS, because OAS is just OBIEE with a different name and a whole new piece (DV).
