What is the role of new column in prompt, because I could not see any difference on my dashboard after selecting and un selecting this option:
When you have many prompts it allows you to have them into multiple columns (visual layout of the various prompts) instead of a very loooooong list.

Please bear with me if I have not completely understood this, for example: I added a new prompt with new column unselected and it is displaying as a separate prompt:
Then I selected new column for city name prompt and dashboard visualization seems to be intact:
It only impact how the prompt's elements are visualized on screen: a long list vs multiple columns list. It only impact how the prompt itself is visualized, not the analysis or anything else.
Without checking the "new column" on any prompt element => long list of prompts one under the other.
By checking the "new column" on the 4th prompt element I'm asking OBIEE to display the prompts from that one into a new column.
