Schedule data visualization report in OAS 5.5 stand alone vesion

Hi,

i am trying to schedule DV report in OAS 5.5 stand alone vesion.

But i don’t see option to schedule the report similar to analysis(answers) report.


anyone suggest me if scheduling feature available for DV report in OAS 5.5 ? And do I need to follow any steps to get DV report scheduled.

    It would help if you could explain what you mean with a "DV report" as that's an oxymoron.

    Answers uses dashboards and analyses. BIP uses reports. DV uses projects and canvas.

    Just because all the objects display data doesn't make them all "reports".

    i am trying to schedule Data Vizualization Project (report), but I can’t find that option in OAS 5.5 stand alone version.


    Can you suggest me if something has to be followed to get that enabled or that feature not available?

    It's really important to clear this point since technology is about precision, not vague approximation: There is no such object as a "report" in DV, so no "Data Visualization Project (report)".

    Using the word "report" as a synonym for every data rendering object is like a doctor saying "I will remove your spleen" and then going ahead and removing your "heart (spleen)" - just because both are organs of your body and he can't be bothered to be precise.

    Report are BI Publisher objects.

    Dashboards and Analyses are Answers objects.

    Projects and Canvas are DV objects.

    Long story short you can't schedule DV objects at the moment. BIP has a scheduler for its objects, Answers has a scheduler for its objects. That's why it's important to be clear about the wording.

    The thing you can do at the moment is to embedd a DV project in a dashboard page and then schedule the dashboard page.

    i tried this.but it’s delivering empty page to my email even though there is data in original scheduled project which is embedded in dashboard page.


    can you suggest me if I am missing something

    Can you clearly state what steps you took to add your DV canvas to a dashboard and also how you scheduled email delivery.

    below are the list of steps followed.

    step1 : created DV canvas with 2 columns and save in shared folder

    step2: create dashboard with one page.in that I added the embedded option and then added the canvas with presentation mode.

    step3: I updated height and width for embedded section which is showing DV canvas.

    step4 : create the agent by scheduling the above dashboard page.

    Next questions. Does the DV canvas display correctly on the dashboard? Have you looked at your log files?

    when I run manually I can see the canvas from dashboard page without any issue.

    only issue is when I schedule that page, it’s not delivering the content

    Have you checked your scheduler log files for any errors?

    There are no errors..is running from logs but it’s not sending report output with scheduler
