Installing OBIEE 11g and Informatica using VMware Workstation

Hi,

I m using VMware Workstation 12, and it has OBIEE 11g is installed on it.

Now, I want to install Informatica ....is it possible to install on the same machine VMware Workstation 12 ?

I have all the extracted files of informatica and infofile.VMDK.

Could you please suggest.

Hi,

It sounds a bit confusing ....

So VMware Workstation 12 is an hypervisor, the soft running vitualmachines.

So when you say you have OBIEE 11g installed on it I guess you mean you have a virtual machine, Windows or Linux, running on VMware Workstation with OBIEE 11g installed inside.

So now you want to install Informatica: fine, your Workstation 12 can run multiple virtual machines in the same time, so not a problem. Just keep in mind that if you don't have enough hardware resources available everything will be really really slow ...

If you have a VMDK file this is supposed to be a virtual hard disk image (so a hard disk used by VMware that can be mounted in a virtual machine.

So in theory you can install your Informatica, it's just not really clear where and how do you want to do it, but technically VMware will not be an issue
