Overwrite session variable
Hi,
I am trying to overwrite ‘user’ session variable with request variable. But it’s not working. Could you please suggest me can we overwrite system session variables? Or it’s not possible?

The USER is the USER. It's a reserved system session variable. You can't overwrite it. Why would you want to do this?

Thank you Chris for the response .As part of the requirement, I would like to pass different user with request variable to see what that user has access to.

That's called "Act As"

And not only it's called "Act As", but what you try to do will just not work. Don't try to hack the security implementation of your OBIEE/OAS. There are other ways to "see what the user has access to", well documented and officially supported like Act As, or simply by being in control of your security model.
You are supposed to know exactly what every user can access because that depends on the security model you did implement. You can get the ACL of every single object in your catalog and analyze what the user has access to etc.

Thank you for the response. In OAC, act as functionality is not available. Is there any work around you suggest for this requirement.

You're in the OBIEE forum and your posts do not mention OAC one single time. Next time write a properly detailed and explained question as outlined in the forum FAQ and you won't get answers going into a different direction

Sure, go in the OAC forum, in the idea space, https://community.oracle.com/customerconnect/categories/idealab-oracle-analytics-cloud-and-server , and open an idea asking for an equivalent of "act as".
The functionality is flagged as deprecated in OAS, in theory it also means Oracle is working on an alternative. But there has been no signs of any alternative for the last 2+ years ...
