Hide Columns/Fields in DV allowing you to apply data actions referencing fields not displayed in the

Organization Name
Arcadis
Description
The data action is a very powerful functionality and having the ability to use it in DV and linking reports directly into the source is being very well received in our projects. To improve it further it would be nice to have the ability to hide columns in visuals allowing you to use the hidden field into a data action without "polluting" the visual with information not relevant in that view. For example IDs.
Use Case and Business Need
Deep-linking a DV report so a user could see all his/her opportunities listed by client/region and, where necessary, can go with one click into the Sales Cloud to edit or take any specific action required to update that opportunity in the source system.
Now for you to be able to perform this use case you need to include the opportunity id in the table/visual and this information is totally irrelevant to the end-user as it is only a system id and not the opportunity number. With the possibility of hiding a column in the visual, similar to what happens in Answers, you would have a clearer view and a better user experience.

Have you looked at using the Tooltip grammar for it?
For data actions to work, a specific selection needs to have the anchor data reference, otherwise, it cannot trigger. The Tooltip allows you to have the data on the cell, but not have it visible on the visual.

Hi Gabby,
Indeed the tooltip has this functionality. Unfortunately, this section of the visual does not accept attribute fields, only measures. The majority of information we need to use as data reference attributes.
Perhaps taking out this restriction would be a good solution.
Thanks.

This is the feature I was looking for a month ago for a big customer demo. Just like Infolets, where you can tap or click to drill into the next view, it would be nice to have a way to click or tap from analytics objects to go to the next level - which can be a URL or a deep link to ERP Cloud or so on. Right now we can use data action but it is painful to go click and select and then drill. More clicks means less user friendly. This feature will help tremendously.

use case: i need to navigate to a URL containing a parameter.
The parameter is an internal key, that is not user friendly not be visible to the user when they use the DV.
I expect to be able to hide the key but still use it for data action.0
