we have OBIEE 12c version 12.2.1.2.0 in our linux server ., we wanted to have OBIEE 12c sample app V607., how to get it done., do we need to install separately or can we have SA v607 with 12.2.1.2.0

First I wanted to know where to install Virtual Box., as my Linux server hosted on a VM., can we install Virtual box in the Linux server VM.?
my understanding is the Virtual Box can be installed in my own PC (not on a VM).,
You can install the SampleApp VM anywhere as long as the machine has adequate resources as the VM is rather resource intensive.
Seems like things are mixing up ...
So SampleApp is a VM and as other said you can't "install the same" into your own OBIEE (and that point was clear already).
Now you have a linux VM running and that's your server and you are looking to install SampleApp somewhere, your options are:
- install it on your laptop/workstation (as long as you have enough resources)
- install next to your linux VM: as you have a host running VMs you can maybe deploy the SampleApp VM on that host directly? There are ways to load a virtualbox VM on vmware and others
I wouldn't install virtualbox inside your linux VM because often virtualization in virtualization doesn't work, or in case that's your only option ask your sys admin who gave you the linux VM if doable and accepted.

I scheduled the report in OTBI and the agent was run successfully. However, I do not receive the report after the run in my inbox. The addresses are properly recorded, and the report is in an excel format and saved as a pivot table in otbi. What can be the cause?
Anyone has any idea why the OAC documentation on custom viz is not available now? I was able to access till last week - https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acsdv/build-package-extension.html. Does this mean OAC doesnt support custom viz or custom workbook extensions?
