Installation FMW / OBIEE 12c

Hi, I just installed FMW 12c Infrastructure and OBIEE 12c on Windows Server 2012 R2. The Oracle Database 12c was already installed, however without a Container database. Everything is up and running, except for the biinstance (biserver). The logs say; ... component is not configured ... Do we have to uninstall everything and create the cdb first or can the current installation be saved and simply add a new cdb and re-configure the missing components? Thanks for your Feedback!

Hi,
I don't see the link between PDB and OBIEE.
First you don't have to create a new CDB as CDB is the base and in case you will add a new PDB, but again OBIEE doesn't need a new database, it just needs the one you used when you did the setup.
You said you installed, but did you also configured OBIEE?

We went through the installation steps according to the docs. When configuring OBIEE 12c - step 8 the configuration progress
hanged at some point. We decided to end the task. Nevertheless, the Weblogic console (admin Server) and EM started without any problems.

So you don't have a valid OBIEE configuration.
Weblogic Adminserver works fine as it's isn't impacted by the OBIEE config, so it's normal that EM and Weblogic Console works fine.
So the best thing to do would be to first understand why the configuration hanged and based on your finding define 1) how to avoid it to hang next time and 2) what do you do now: can you recover the thing and reuse what you have or you must uninstall all the OBIEE parts and restart?

Ok! We will look into this. Probably uninstall and retry. Thanks!
