Catalog manager 12.2.1.2 error while performing search

Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading from OBIEE 11.1.1.7 to 12.2.1.2.
Everything worked fine with the installation, moving over the repository, copied over the catalog and performed "Scan and Update Catalog Objects That Require Updates" from the Administration tab.
Installed client tools for 12.2.1.2 and connected online to the catalog using Catalog Manager. Catalog tree is showing everything, but the Search isn't working, it results in following error
An internal error occurred during: "Catalog Search".
java.lang.NullPointerException
Doesn't matter if I am using weblogic user or another user with Admin rights.
I installed the client tools for 12.2.1.0 in a different Middleware home on the same client machine, strangely the search worked absolutely fine.
Now I am using Admin tool from 12.2.1.2 to compile my repository and Catalog Manager from 12.2.1.0 to search my catalog.
Any clues/help would be highly appreciated.

I'm getting this error when accessing the permissions of a folder. Also using 12.2.1.2 catalog manager.

Have you resolved this? I've had a ticket open with oracle for weeks now that is getting nowhere on the same issue.

That happens on pretty much all 12.2.1.2 Catalog Managers. Haven't yet played a lot with it but from what I've seen at a first glance it looks like the runcatinternal.sh / .cmd changes are responsble.

You can make that error go away.
Simply activate lightweightSSO between /analytics and /va...then you can't access the catalog anymore at all :-P

Hi,
I've made some progress..
When I run Catalog Manager from Linux server where OBIEE 12c EE is installed (run DOMAIN_HOME/bitools/bin/runcat.sh via VNC server or something like mobaXterm) I get NO error, everything works.
So obviously there is an issue ONLY with my local Windows Catalog Manager installation.
From support I got a tip that I need to install "Patch 25484350: GET "JAVA.LANG.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION" IN CATALOG MANAGER WHEN VIEWING PERMISSIONS" to resove this issue.
But as I said for Windows Catalog Manager installation it is not helping.
I need to check if it even effects the server version of Catalog Manager (I did not run it prior applying this patch). I'll rollback the patch and check again.

Ok, yes...Now I've tested and "Patch 25484350: GET "JAVA.LANG.NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION" IN CATALOG MANAGER WHEN VIEWING PERMISSIONS" needs to be applied for the server side Catalog Manager to be working.
But I repeat, it does NOT solve the issue on my local Windows machine BI Client tool (which includes Catalog Manager).
