I uninstalled everything including JAVA and started a fresh installation. However when I am starting the BI configuration, It is failing all the time. Below is the screen shot of the error.

Initially, I was getting error.

The installation jdk C:\Java\JDK18~1.0_6 is not accessible.

Please set appropriate JAVA_HOME and run again.

But I have already created an environment variable and set to this path. Also I am able to do SET JAVA_HOME from command prompt. Another thing was, If I manually run setHomeDirs.cmd or wlst.cmd, it run successfully for first time. However when I run it again, I am getting the same error.

I am not able to figure out as where we need to set the JAVA_HOME variable in OBIEE 12c files. Also not sure whether it is because of any firewall issue.

Please help.

Thanks,
Suhel

  • If you look at the certification matrix you will see that Windows 8.1 is definitely not a supported OS for OBIEE 12c.

The only component certified for that OS is the Admin tool.

    So if it doesn't work ... it isn't a surprise ...

There is also some points about desktop OS or server OS, OBIEE 12c isn't really like Excel, so it's not supposed to run on a desktop OS (talking about the Windows family as in linux it's different).

I agree that OBIEE 12c is not supported for Desktop OS but I have already installed this and ran successfully on my system. It is mostly for hand on purpose as I don't have any personal server where I can install it. If you could help me with the right direction, any logs needs to be looked into, any files missing etc.

    Thanks,
