    Hi John305

You can Just Create a Presentation variable from the dashboard prompt and define the dates as per your requirement.

Now Go to- Corresponding Analysis/Report and Click on Edit Icon for Title Area and provide the variable names which you have created in the format of  @{<your variable name> }.

Working Process at backend: When you would have selected the prompt value,it will load in to your variable, then it will displays the Date as you have created the code/function in your presentation variable.

Hope you will get resolved what you are looking for...

    Regards

  • Hi,

You can get the current date in the title (or a text box) by using @{system.currentTime}[DD-MM-YYYY]

For the 6 months calculation it's a bit different as you aren't looking for a variable but you want to execute a calculation (a LSQL piece of code).

Why not write something like "Data for @{system.currentTime}[DD-MM-YYYY] and past 6 months" ? At least it always works

As you aren't into an analysis (looks more like a prompt or a text box directly) you can actually have an analysis returning only 2 column: CURRENT_DATE and your TIMESTAMPADD calculations and use a narrative view to display the values formatted as a title.

And if i want to show the "description" of a dimension based on the filter ?

Example for 0101210000 in the picture i wanna show the description of this code , how can i proceed ?

  • The question is "où" ? where do you want to see the description? In the prompt? Or do you want based on the selection of 010121000 in the prompt to see the description of that value in the title?

in a text zone based on the filter , Just read about the narrative view, i did it . Thank you

The remaining problem is that before the filter , i see All the descriptions ( which is normal ) , do you know a way to hide it before the filter is done ?

  • Edit your prompt to save the value in a presentation variable and use that variable as conditions to see if something has been selected or not. So you can display a custom message or nothing when there isn't a value selected.

Congratulations to your employer. That's a very, very intelligent way of managing human resources.
