  • Not exactly sure what you expect as you don't really provide anything useful ...

Start looking at log files, everything is logged so into the log file you will probably find something a bit more explicit.

PS: this doesn't mean to post here 2000 rows of logs, try to identify the interesting bit and if it isn't explicit enough post back that bit.

The logs are fine. If I start BI Services using one of the oracle scripts, it works fine, WebLogic comes up fine.

it's just when i try to start WebLogic manually.

  • I must be missing the point:

Why don't you stay with the script then?

As you don't say what OBIEE version you use I guess it's the one with the provided ant script, so if you look into the script which work you find all the details on how to successfully start weblogic (can be because of missing env variables or permissions, but if weblogic doesn't start the logs can't be fine, it will say weblogic is going down at some point and there around you will have the reason).

    Strange things happening.

The Admin server diagnostic log is showing this error:

But the bi_foundation log is showing it's in running mode...

I figured it out. Thank you for your time. It was user error.

@2889517 It would be good form and netiquette to let other users benefit from this thread by stating what the error was and how it was eliminated.
