Constrain Prompt not working

Question

Hello Expert,

I am facing an strange issue where the there are few dashboard prompt

like

Product (constrain on ) -> Product Type

Product Color( constrain on ) -> Brand

Sell Month(constrain on) -> Year (selling Year)

there is a time dimension is in place but the Sell Month and Year is made from Sell Order Detail Dim.

Problem is that when we are selecting the Month in first place like 2017 July, and then selecting Product Prompt value like Pen OR Product Color like Red, Month value is getting reset to "select value" .

Default value of Year is set to 2017.

Can you please guide me if its a default behavior if we create a year and month from Dim and place it on dashboard.

I do not have a 12.2.1.1.0 available right now but it works fine (as expected) in 12.2.1.2.0.

I assume that by "contraint on" you mean "limits values by" in the prompt column. If the "limits values by" are set correctly and only on the 3 (product, color and month) with a dependency on the respective column (type, brand, year) in 12.2.1.2.0 it works just fine.

Nothing is lost...

So options can be a bug fixed in 12.2.1.2.0 or an issue in how you built your prompt ...

Hello Gianni,

My Obiee version is  12.2.1.1.0 with no patch.

Yes I have 6 prompt from 3 different dimension - 2 prompt from a single dimension constrained .

All are in a single file or created a single contained and saved in dashboard prompt.

Like digram above all are placed in a single file and saved as a single file.

What version exactly? (full version & patch number if applicable as there are differences between each one)

And still didn't understand how your 6 prompts you described in your first post are placed.

Which prompted field is together with which other prompted field inside the same prompt?

Depending the answer it can be "work as expected" or something else ...
