Export a Main report to pdf with drill down in OBIEE

Hi All,

I have a summary level report with metrics and the metrics has interaction to drill down to another detail level report.

The summary level report in the dashboard has Export option in the bottom of the report and the users will be able to export to PDF/ Excel/Csv.

My requirement here is users when exporting the summary level report from dashboard (i.e main report with metrics), they want the drill down report also to be exported.

Is this possible to achieve in OBIEE ? Am currently using OBIEE 12c.

Can someone please give me a workaround for this scenario.

    OBIEE is for on-screen interaction with data.

    Is there a way if i can get the drill down report (the 2nd report as mentioned above which is my detail report)  to the dashboard along with Main report split by 2 sections. ?

    The user would put in the parameters and then export the report (csv, excel, pdf, html, etc ...)  you would just build it so you have the master and detail rows showing.

    How to handle the drill down reports when Agents/iBots are scheduled to the Main report to the Users emails ? As only Main report gets delivered pdf/html.

    BI Publisher can burst your report ...

    Bursting = specific content to specific recipients..

    I think you are missing the design and intent of OBIEE ... BIPublisher is another tool that complements OBIEE

    Thanks Thomas for you insights.

    The requirement is Main report has a drill down report or a detail report.

    Users will be able to view the report through email as recipients of Agents/i bots and not through login to obiee every time.

    As a result Users want to see both reports(main and detail) during export pdf/excel or through Agents.

    To test if Publisher report gets delivered to email via Agents, I scheduled the reports one of a existing BI Publisher report with parameters, however the Publisher report doesn't load with the data when the Agent triggers the email.

    So am not sure if I create BI Publisher to achieve this and if it fails for Agents.

    With all this am missing the design and not sure on a workaround for this kind of requirement.
