Configuration problem of OBIEE 12c in Solaris 11 system after installation.

Dear All,

I need a quick help to solve this issue.

We installed Oracle Solaris 11.3 Live Media in a system. We tried to install OBIEE version 12.2.1.2.0 in this OS (Solaris 11.3). We have installed Weblogic server (Infrastructure) and OBIEE in this OS.

We have done a perfect installation and RCU creation without any error in Solaris 11.3 system (Oracle DB version 12.1.0.2.0 in another system). But at the time of configuration OBIEE 12c it gives error at 72%. Below is the screenshot.

We did not move forward and not complete the configuration. We already setup the network as static IP before start the installation process.

Kindly help us to solve this issue as early as possible.

If required we will provide the configuration log file.

    We checked that document but this is AIX and DB2 platform. We are installing OBIEE version 12.2.1.2.0 in Solaris 11.3. Also before start the installation we added the IP address in hosts file. But got same issue.

    1) Could you clarify whether you selected configuration option as:

    a. Clean Slate,

    b. Sample Application

    c. 11g export Bundle Jar file import (you are importing 11g instance JAR file during OBIEE 12c configuration step itself)

    2) Did you check install log for actual errors due to which configuration failed, open log named install2017-08-04_07-35-07PM.log from following location /u01/oraInventory/logs

    3) Your import service instance step is failing hence you need to check your service instance related logs aswell to find out exact cause of the issue.

    You can also check below Bug and based on your logs verify if your issue is same as described in below mentioned Bug for which Bug 25205239 is marked as base bug meaning it is same issue.

    Bug 25608297 : RFA :11GJAR IMPORT IN 12C :ORACLE.BI.MIGRATION.PLUGIN.METADATA.TRANSFORMBAREXC

    If your issue is same as above Bug then you need to install below mentioned patch in your environment.

    Patch 25205239: IMPORT BAR FILE FROM 11.1.1.7 TO 12C FAILS (WEBCAT ISSUE)

    If you come to a conclusion that you would need Patch 25205239 to resolve your issue then follow below steps:

    a) Rename your user_projects folder to back it up if still present after failed configuration under ORACLE_HOME

    b) Apply the Patch 25205239 within your OBIEE 12c environment

    c) Re run the configuration assistance.
