Unable to install OBIEE 12c on Windows10(x64)
I an trying to install Oracle Business Intelligence 12c (12.2.1.0.0) on my Windows 10 desktop(x64). After installing the pre-requisites JDK and FMW, when I am trying to run the setup_bi_platform-12.2.1.0.0_win64.exe after unzipping both the disks to a folder, a window appears carrying the message "Preparing for install" followed by "Cleaning Up" and then abruptly vanishes out.No error is thrown and nothing happens after that.Kindly help me get around this problem.

Hi ,
Have you checked the matrix before installing? Win 10 desktop is not supported.

Did you managed to run the setup_bi_platform-12.2.1.0.0_win64.exe as an administrator?? Also, Change .exe file compatibility to Window 7 and see.

Why would he do that? He can run into a whole lot of problems because it isn't a supported OS, have no idea why those problems happen and have no support from Oracle. If there's a certification matrix that tells you OBIEE isn't certified against a specific OS, why would you go against it?

It's nice that you sent me a connection request but you will not get a different answer than what Pedro told you.

You are missing the point completely.
A) Windows 10 is not supported
If that is all he has and does not want to pay for a Windows server OS...then he should use Linux
And most importantly and this is something that someone working in IT should actually comprehend:
C) Windows 10 is a DESKTOP Operating System. Not a SERVER one!
This is a pretty basic distinction which kind of should be understood in order to be able to claim that one is an Oracle BI consultant...

Long story short: choose between spending hours and days trying to make it works and install virtualbox and have your OBIEE up and running 30 minutes later. Follow the link posted above by Pedro if you want to start with SampleApp which is definitely something every OBIEE user would need to have.

@3542473 Pedro's answer isn't "Helpful" - it's the "Correct" one. Pure and simple.
