How can I move OBIEE 12C BI server from Starting in ADMIN mode to RUNNING

Last week (5th of september) we succesfully deployed a new rpd and catalog with a BAR file, switching from our Oracle 10 Database to Oracle 12 Database (on a OBIEE12 linux production server working smoothly for 3 months)

- For 3 days, we had no problems and the system was working fine with the new database connections

- Saturday 9th of september we restarted web logic after deploying some customMessages files

- Since than the Bi server does not leave the ADMIN mode.

- We have tried lots of things, and finally restored the VMWare backup of Friday and than wednesday, nothing helped.

- We also tried to deploy an rpd with initilization blocks disabled, without any succes.

Can anybody give me a clue on how to prcoeed ?

    Hi,

    I noticed this error, "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space".

    Did you check if your system has enough memory?

    What are your current ms and mx settings, ie how much heap have you allocated to each of the weblogic instances? The logs throw out of memory exceptions so you will need to increase the value you have for mx to give more memory to the JVM, but before you do that, check how much memory your server/vm has and how much of that is available to be given to the JVMs.

    and I have already increased the heap memory in cooperation with oracle support, but that did not solve the problem. So maybe you recognice a deeper cause (and possible solution) for this problem from the second log file I added at the end of my post ?

    not BI Server . Your Linux Server. Try it in OTN forums - weblogic. May be you will get better answer from there.

    Admin generally happens due to memory issues.. did you try resuming the services.

    have you checked the BI Server log file? There should be some errors in there which should give you some kind of guidance. You can paste the excerpt of the log file in the post which can be found here:
