Sample app, creating repository variables possible on the online frontend?

I need recreate a problem that we are experiencing in OBIEE on SampleApp, and I was shown the onling frontend for this app, however, the columns that I need to recreate have references of rep[ository variable. How can I create those within SampleApp? I can post the URL, but I do now know the policy on sharing the link.

Not sure I understand you there. You are asking how to create new repository variables?
If so, then that is done using the Admin Tool which is a fat client tool that needs to be installed on your PC.

While that can make repository variables on the repositories I have, the problem is with making them on the SampleApp online page. I was given a URL from Oracle Support to access the SampleApp dashboards so I can create a report that replicates the problem that I am having, however, that problem involves the creation of repository variables for SampleApp to pick up.

In addition to what Christian posted, who sent you that link? Is it maybe after you opened a SR and the support is asking you to reproduce it on the environment they sent you the link? In that case you maybe do not have access to the RPD at all but just the front-end, which would be a bit dumb if you have issues with a RPD variable to give you just a front-end access ....

Ok, we posted in the same time and you confirmed what I thought
Did the support also gave you a way to connect to the RPD? You can always try the default port ...
But wouldn't be surprising if they didn't understand you have an issue with a RPD variable which require RPD access to reproduce (because a presentation variable can have a different behaviour).
Isn't the link you got OAC instad of Sample App?

If there isn't a way from there, perhaps I should make another SR? The original request was simply to get to SampleApp after the download got corrupted several times. and this was floated as a possible solution.

Ok, I'm struggling to get the link between things ...
So the SR was to have a link where you could download SampleApp v607 (OBIEE Samples ) locally? And you now want to reproduce your issue there? (so inside the VM you are running containing SampleApp)
You can't create a repository variable from the front-end, just because it wouldn't be a repository variable anymore ...
If you are running SampleApp locally you can connect to its RPD with your Admintool (depends on the network settings you setup on the VM).
If the support gave you a link to an online SampleApp, I guess it's more a link to an online OAC instance (not SampleApp) and there you can't do a repository variable from the front-end too. So there you would also need to connect to the RPD with your Admintool.

+1 to Gianni and what I said in the very beginning: What are you actually trying to achieve because what you're writing is very confusing.

I'll start from the beginning.
I was asked to investigate a reporting error that was occurring in our environment. When I described the problem to them they wanted the issue to be duplicated within a repoducable test case in SampleApp. However, getting SampleApp to work was running into problems, so another SR was made to get SampleApp working when it was unzipped. Support then provided a SampleURL, to use it without deploying it.

A sampleapp url, sorry.

Ok so what you are actually trying is to get an instance of SampleApp to run?
