How to pass the value of variable prompt in analysis OBIEE

Hi Guys,
I have created a variable prompt and have added 3 custom values in it. I have created analysis, and I want on the basis of particular value of variable prompt, corresponding analysis should be displayed.
Can someone please give me an example, how to achieve it?
Thanks,
Dolly

Hi,
What are you trying to achieve exactly? Do you have 3 different analysis that you want to display based on the value selected in the variable prompt?
If that's the case, you can achieve that by having conditional sections in a dashboard (a conditional section per analysis) and use other analysis, which you set up referencing that variable prompt, to determine which sections are displayed.
See one example here. If you google for it, you'll find more examples.

Hi DollyG ,
here is a scenerio that you can use.
- create variable prompt
- Create a report which filtered by presentation variable
- Show the result

I cannot open this example as the site seems blocked here. Can u please give some other example?

In the second screenshot, where u created the report, u had a column "Bolge" where u used this variable prompt to fetch the values and displayed the result.
In my scenario: I have 4 graphs. 2 graphs in 1 section (CI Adoption and Sonar Adoption). Other 2 graphs in another section (Release and Incident).
Now, I have created a variable prompt named Display which has 2 custom values (Adoption and Quality). Such that on selecting Adoption (CI Adoption and Sonar Adoption) should display and other section should hide, on selecting Quality (only Release and Incident) graphs should display.
So, how can I achieve that using a variable prompt?

DollyG This is a duplicate question, you already created one for the same question: Filter the reports on OBIEE 12c dashboard based on user selection
Please create only one post for any question you have.

Hi Martin,
Although my requirement is same, but I am trying to achieve it with any of the possible way, that could work.
In order to accomplish it, I first need to pass the value of variable prompt in analysis and that's what the question says.
Hence, not a duplicate question

Question: What is wrong with the saved customizations that Martin mentioned?

I explained my manager and he does not agree to it. So, that option is ruled out.

Ok in that case...what's wrong with or "the problem with" conditional sections?!

I dnt know how to proceed as I am facing 2 major issues:
1. Already conditions are applied on sections. I have created 2 column prompts, such that when I select the Business Unit (column prompt), corresponding analysis are displayed and when I click on (Product column prompt), different set of analysis is displayed. For this scenario, if more condition needs to be added, how can I merge both the conditions on a single section, as on a section only one condition can be applied at a time.
2. Not able to create an analysis on the basis of which condition can be added in the section.
