Hi All,

Would you, please, explain with an example the meaning of "Most Frequent (Worst Case)" in the "Assessment Formula" drop-down list?

This is encountered while assigning weights to individual objectives in OBIEE Scorecards.

I found the following description in Oracle Documentation, but, obviously, it doesn't clear things to me:

Most Frequent (Worst Case): Specifies that, if half the child KPIs and objectives have high performance and half have low performance, then the status of the worst performing child KPI or objective is to be used.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Ahmed

In the documentation where you found the write-up of the assessments, there is links to examples of each method right below it ...

    Here's a public link to 11g documentation ... https://umetrx.spire.umass.edu/analytics/olh/l_en/scorecard025.htm

notice the examples right after the initial write-up.

Is your question really what is the difference between Best/Worst Case & Most Frequent (Best/Worst) Case?

    Hi Thomas,

First of all, thanks for replying at my question.

Secondly, Yes, I would like to elaborate the real difference between those two different choices; for example, the difference between Worst Case and Most Frequent (Worst Case).

Actually, I know the meaning of Worst Case, for example if an Objective has three (3) KPIs, one with "OK" status and the other two KPIs with "Warning" status, then, the status of the overall Objective will be "Warning". Right?

Also, as I understand, the overall status of the Objective will be "Warning", with the same previous data, if the assessment was Most Frequent (Worst Case). Right? So, what is, actually, the real difference between them. Is the difference only clarified if there are even number of KPIs, so, then, we can use Most Frequent (Worst Case) to select the Worst half?

    Best Regards,

    Ahmed

    Yes,correct.

If I remember right, the difference is that the weighting comes from the worst or best half of the child KPIs ... kind of follows path of:

a unweighted scheme (best or worst)

through a blended weighted (through only the best/worst)

or into a full weighted (you specify the individual KPI weights)
