Hi Experts,

We have recently upgraded from 11g to 12c. We have plenty of catalog folders under shared folder but only few are displayed in 12c. If you faced any similar issue, please help me.

Regards,

Hari

    1. Which *exact* 11g version?

    2. Which *exact* 12c version?

    3. HOW *exactly* did you upgrade?

There are more and more posts like this here and on StackOverflow and pretty much all are due to using wrong versions or not doing the upgrade correctly. Edit: In short by not reading, understanding or following the upgrade documentation

I've upgraded tons of implementations and they all work fine.

    1.Upgraded from 11.1.1.7.0

    2. Upgraded to 12.2.1.3.0

    3. Using jar file import and export from 11g to 12c.

Hope you got all information you requested.

Have you checked the basics? Are the application roles an EXACT match between the environments? And not by saying "Sure - BIAuthor is the same as BIContentAuthor"...there are distinct differences

Yes they are same. We have verified the applications roles they are exact match.

Have you already checked in the ADministration page whether there are objects left which require upgrading?

Have you checked what makes those folders stand out? Do they share certain rights in 11g?

Have you already done a re-import of the catalog via the command line and not the JAR?

Yes.. I have scanned and updated the catalog objects.

The folders which are not displaying in 12c that was set as system account as owner in 11g.

Have you already done a re-import of the catalog via the command line and not the JAR?

Yes we have re-imported the catalog from 11g.

When i change from user view to admin view i am able to see all the catalog folders. When i change to user view the catalog folders which was set system account as owner they are not displaying in 12c.

    Thanks

    Hari

Have you tried changing the owner with runcat setItemProperties for the affected folders and items?

We have resolved ourselves. OBIEE12c security implementation was different when compared to 11g.

@3695178 not to make too fine a point but my second statement was that you should review the security...
