    Hi,

I'm not going to translate that for the community as others suggested they would do it (sorry Christian, too lazy today), but I would say that what you need right now is simply a training.

You did an install, fine, that's the easy part in the end as it's often a "next next next" thing. But OBIEE isn't a little tool, look at the documentation for admin how "small" it is, you easily understand that it's something which need time and knowledge.

And expecting such a document in french is ... well ... don't buy Oracle if you want to work fully in French. Just look at the interface, there are things which doesn't make sense in the french translation, and a technical documentation use a quite simple English. You better start using the tool in English as that's what the doc, 98% of the blog posts and this whole forum is based on. When you search things in English you get 10000000 results while only 5 in French.

Do not expect all the existing content will adapt to you and translate in French, get yourself into it in English. After all if you are into IT technical English is something you already master (right?).

PS: and English isn't by far not my mother tongue like it isn't for at least 60% of the people on here, but even ignoring the syntax or grammar it's possible to understand each other English most of the time, so I'm not going to write this in French.

For the benefit of other users - the issue basically comes down to "How does OBI work" and "How does one use OBI".

    With regards to that:

1.) Always start with the documentation. Uploading an RPD to the server is explained in the link I posted earlier: https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/12212/biee/BIEMG/GUID-C0BBA452-CC54-43A3-9A61-F1ADCCBEBDDB.htm#upload_repos_cmd

2.) All command line tools and functions like datamodel.sh/cmd, runcat etc can be scripted and hence automated. They are made like that for exactly that reason.

3.) For many if not most tasks there is the Oracle Learning Library: https://apexapps.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:1:0

    and more specific to BI:

    https://apexapps.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:OLL_SEARCH:107418079960239:USER_SAVED_SEARCH:NO:RP:P2_USER_SAVE_SEARCH_ID…

4.) BUT: A good comprehension of the tool is pretty much a complete go / no-go criterion and trying to "wiggle through" without proper training is a dangerous proposition at best. We can help work around issues but most issues will simply never exist or come up if a training is passed.

Edit: Gianni's post contains another gem that I forgot: 5.) Yes without English it's pretty hard getting anywhere in the analytics space. Neither french nor english are my mother-tongues for example ;-)

It's shocking your answer. Better not answer. I have no problem with English. Only I need a synthesis document IF YOU HAVE.

    Thanks for your suggestion!
