I would just say that there are some people (with POWER) who doesn't understand or let's put it like, who doesn't know what they actually want....
And due to lack of proper requirement and understanding of the system, OBIEE is just used as another EXCEL, data downloader, etc., etc.,....
Yes, you can do a SEARCH and REPLACE using Catalog Manager to modify the related xmls for the 2018 reports, if you have the access (Please have a proper BACKUP before proceeding)...

I agree there are serious design issues with the reports, but unfortunately this is what I have been given with.
The changes in the analysis every year is related to year (2018 and 2017) and not in design. Anyways I will work on date prompt now rather than manually changing it every year.
