OBIEE Compatibility with SQL Server
We have an on-prem installation of OBIEE 12c which uses SQL Server as the database for both application data as well as the OBIEE repository database. We are planning to install the latest bundle patch to upgrade OBIEE 12c to 12.2.1.4. According to the Oracle documentation, OBIEE 12.2.1.4 supports SQL Server 2016.
If we upgrade our database to SQL Server 2017 instead and change the SQL compatibility mode to SQL Server 2016, will OBIEE still work?
Does anyone have experience in this kind of setup.

I would say the question is not if OBIEE still work, it's more if it's supported.
Because even if it works, the day you have an issue you are alone: Oracle will tell you that you are not having a certified environment and therefore you can't say the issue is OBIEE.
Only possible exception is if you talk only for dev environments, where if they are down it isn't a big deal.
Therefore you maybe want to have ask an official statement to Oracle if that kind of environment will be "certified" and supported.
