We need an option to remove charts from pivot tables
There doesn't seem to be a place to post ideas in the OBIEE MOSC (please correct me if that's wrong), so I'm throwing this in here.
I frequently use pivot table charts because they offer more formatting flexibility. (e.g. using hidden columns to influence sorting)
However, once you have created the view, you may want to remove the chart. The only way to do that is to go into the XML and delete the nested view - not a big deal, but the less time spent fiddling in the XML the better.
I'd like to see a "Remove chart" option in the Position drop-down:

Hi,
As far as I know they don't look for ideas about the product from this forum (never saw an OBIEE/OAC product manager here in the last 2-3 years). Your best chance is to raise an enhancement request (a type of SR).
For OAC there is a place where they listen to ideas in the other CCC forum (I just don't remember the exact name of the place).

Adding a couple of things to Gianni / reinforcing his points:
1.) Handing in an enhancement request is definitely the official way to go.
2.) You normally meet Oracle PMs more at conferences and meetups where you can talk to them and they are very open to discussing all these topics.
3.) OBI will undergo a huge change very soon (as hinted at back in June in the announcement at Skywalker Ranch)
Edit: cloudcustomerconnect for OBIEE is here:

and OAC / OAS (the future) is here:

Gianni & Christian,
Thanks for your responses. I'll look into submitting an ER.

Hi Jerry,
Not sure if this works in the version you are using, but in 12.2.1.0.0, if you press the same button you pressed to get the graph (graph pivoted results), it removes the graph.

Yes!!!
You'd think I would have tried that at some point in the last thirteen years. (I'm hoping I did try it back in 10G and it didn't work)
Thanks for reminding me try the obvious first.

Haha, no problem . As a relatively new user, I guess the 'obvious' solutions come first to my mind before trying anything fancy. Glad it helped in this case though!
