DEV_MDS, DEV_BIPLATFORM password expired

Hey Guys,
Usually we restart our BI servers once every week, When i tried to restart this week strange thing happened after successful shutdown, The server didn't come up only node manager was coming up both admin and managed servers were down.
When i checked the logs got to know the DEV_MDS and DEV_BIPLATFORM passwords were expired confirmed it through checking in DB, Now the problem is we don't know the passwords of these. Is there any way to know what was the previous password or can we change the password to something else and bring up the server and change the password afterwards need your input.
Thanks,
Deepak

Firstly, your DBAs should unlock these accounts. Then take a look at this document - https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20and%20Business%20Intelligence/2109841_1.htm…
Also consider assigning the RCU DB users to a profile in which the passwords don’t expire. DBAs should be able to do this for you. Make Oracle password never expire

Thank you! But since my servers are down if i change the password to some other password will the servers come up? Or it just checks whether the account in active status or not.

The config changes should change all references that OBIEE uses to access the RCU so I believe that it shouldn't be an issue if the OBIEE components are down - only one way to find out...

Oh no, it needs to access those schemas for real, it's not just a fake test if account is active or disabled.

All the schemas that are created during RCU Creation is rquired and should be accessible. These contain metadata required, security and other relevant stuff that is required by OBIEE to be up and running.

You can find out what's the hashed password, reset it and set the accounts to not expire by following the instructions in Doc ID 2352213.1. That doc was written for OAC but the same procedure applies for the On-premise version.
