Hi all,

Today we were upgraded to Office 365.

Where i always used an Iqy connection file to connect to my OBIEE analysis reports, it's not working anymore.

I can't seem to Google the correct answer and our IT guys locally are not really getting my point.

Hope you have a solution for this to work!
Or is it a coincidence with Office 365?

It loads and suddenly you will see cell A1 and B1 filled with "Oracle Logo" and "Business Intelligence".

I know a lot of people in my business use this, so i'd really like it to work.

Thanks,

Robin

    Hi Robin,

Apart from the obvious question "Why was this never tested before going to Office 365" you mean? ;-)

Which EXACT version of OBIEE are you using? Have you looked a the certification matrices already? https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/fusion-certification.html

Without knowing the version there is literally no way of telling you anything.

    Hi christan, thanks for replying.

I'm not really getting your certification stuff, but i use this: 11g release 1 (11.1.1.7).

    Hope that helps!

    Kind regards,

    Robin

You're "not really getting" it? Have you opened the file relating to your version? Just read what's written:

Nothing above 2010 is official supported or tested. OBIEE 11.1.1.7 is old and outdated and should have been replaced years ago with a new version.

We are having he same problem. We have OBIEE 12.2.1.3.0 and we are testing for moving to Office 365 from Office 2013.

The problem seems to be answered in the Oracle Community here: https://www.oracle.com/webfolder/community/business_intelligence/4265644.html  However, I am Business and not IT and I don't have the support ID needed to read the answer, I just get "to view full details, sign in with your Oracle Support Community Account. I can't get the account authorized because I'm on the business side in my company so I don't have the support ID needed.

The problem is when we load the IQY file in Excel 365, it starts fetching the data, then returns just two cells "Oracle Logo" in cell A1 and "Business Intelligence" in cell B1.

I found out that Office 365 has the general policy option or blocking all IQY files https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/office-365-admins-can-now-block-malicious-microsoft-query-iqy-files/ however I have verified that this is not checked in our version of Office 365. I have also made sure the IQY file was in a trusted location.

I, also, have trouble understanding the certification matrix, sorry that its not intuitive to some of us, but looking at it for my version of OBIEE I found this:

    Oracle BI Delivers12.2.1.3.0Microsoft Office2010,2013,2016
    Oracle BI Interactive Dashboards12.2.1.3.0Microsoft Office2010,2013,2016
Oracle BI Scorecard and Strategy Management12.2.1.3.0Microsoft Office2010,2013,2016
    Oracle BIP Desktop Tools12.2.1.3.0Microsoft Office

    2010,2013,2016

So is this saying that our version of OBIEE is incompatible with Office 365? Do you know what version of OBIEE we need to be compatible with Office 365? Any help (without condemnation for not being as advanced as you are - the reason we are asking questions is because we need to learn) would be very much appreciated.

This page contains all certification matrices. As you can see, 12.2.1.4 - the last OBIEE version before the replacement with OAS - is certified with 365:
