Oracle OAS 5.9 installation -- Oracle_Home error

Hi Gurus,

As part of OAS 5.9 setup, first completed Fusion Middleware (weblogic server) 14.1.1.0.0 installation and configuration, then started installing OAS 5.9 (on Red Hat linux 7 server), at 3rd step where we specify Oracle_Home, i gave the same Oracle_Home created during FMW install. Once i hit NEXT at the bottom i am getting below errors ..

" INST-07548: The selected distribution does not have any compatible install type for the selected Oracle_Home. Provide a different Oracle Home.

INST-07551: Not all dependent feature sets for install type "Oracle Analytics" could be found. The following prerequisites were found to be missing: jrf_wlsFmw - 12.2.1.4.0 Select a different Oracle_Home having all dependencies "


some questions here:-

  1. Should FMW and OAS use same Oracle_Home location ?
  2. Can't we provide a different Oracle_Home location for OAS install ? (basically this new Oracle_Home is an empty folder into which OAS install process writes all files etc)

    Go back to the installation documentation, the certification and the download page: OAS 5.9 requires FMW 12.2.1.4, your 14.1.1.0.0 install is useless for OAS.

    Install the correct FMW and the problems will disappear. FMW is not swappable with a newer version just like that, the dependency is strict: OAS 5.9 <=> FMW 12.2.1.4

    Thanks Gianni, but the download page is a bit confusing with lot of options (different softwares for 12.2.1.4), please point the right one,

    Having invested good amount of time in this install process, can't afford to lose more time, so trying to figure out the correct software from the list..

    If it isn't confusing, it isn't Oracle and you aren't downloading the right product 😁



    This page send you to https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/fusionmiddleware-downloads.html

    From there they send you around a bit in the most confusing possible way, till at some point you get on https://www.oracle.com/middleware/technologies/weblogic-server-installers-downloads.html


    And there you look for Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1.4 first and then under this one you look for Fusion Middleware Infrastructure Installer (1.5 GB).

    And there you have the right file.

    As an alternative you could also use https://edelivery.oracle.com/, there you can search for "Oracle Analytics Server" and select the version you need. This will give you "almost" all the files (the WebLogic patch file is missing there).

    Thank you, just downloaded on that same link and the name of downloaded file says

    "fmw_12.2.1.4.0_infrastructure_Disk1_1of1.zip"

    That's the one, FMW and right version.
