HI,

i am having issue in pivot view with conditional formatting for null values.

i have values like below In pivot view.

C   200

I Want to apply conditional formatting(total row to bold) for row B Even though corresponding value is null.

anyone suggest me how can i get this?

  • Hi,

    Which version of OBIEE? 10, 11, 12?

In 10 and earlier version of 11 (if not wrong) it was possible to have conditional formatting on totals, in the last 11 (and I guess 12 even if I didn't test in details) it's not possible anymore: conditional formatting apply to values but not totals.

Second point: is your null a real NULL value? Or it's the lack of data for that combination of attributes? If it's a real NULL then conditional formatting apply, if it's a lack of data then there is nothing where to apply a conditional formatting as there is no data ....

    i am using version 11.

actually it's a lack of data.

but when i apply the condition format like row name is B then make it as Bold on both the columns, if the B value is null then conditional format is not applying in first column as well.

anyone suggest me if any work around for column formatting for null values?

  • I'm not really sure of what you really try to do as it works ...

    Capture.PNG

Conditional formatting on the Revenue column with condition Customer Name = "Adalia Abbey" and style BOLD (and background to make it more visible).

Null cells, as said earlier, aren't impacted but the other cells on the row adopt the style.

So can you maybe post a screenshot of what you have and where you don't have your conditional formatting working?

Hi, i have data like below print screen.

First column is Customer Name and Second Column is Revenue.

Im my report i display 20 static customer names even though their values are null. for couple of customers i apply conditional formatting like if Customer Name is 'Adah Bacon' then display as Bold.

i apply this conditional formatting for Customer Name and revenue columns. But here the issue is if the 'Adah Bacon' revenue is null then none of the rows showing in bold color(i mean Adah Bacon in first column also not showing in bold).

Can you suggest me any work around to get this fixed?
