Connecting OBIEE Admintool to Hive : issues with ODBC. Any option ?

OK, I see the point. I'll give it a try. Thanks. GN

After many attempts, finally I've been able to create a working subject area retrieving data from an Hive2.
Your suggestion (to continue to build the Logical and Presentation models anyway) was actually correct.
In addition to that, I did have to use the Hortonworks ODBC driver to build the initial physical model BUT
to use the Oracle Hive ODBC for the BI Server.
Anyway, just to resume:
a) for addition of the database into the physical model of Admintool I've used the Hortonworks ODBC driver
b) unfortunately there's no way to retrieve the tables in an automatic way, so each table should be manually added;
THIS IS STII THE BIGGEST PENDING ISSUE, at the moment (imagine to manually add all the tables and
all related columns by hand...)
c) added manually a logical and presentation model and checked out Admintool
d) added a new ODBC entry to the instance's odbc.ini file, this time using the embedded Oracle direct ODBC driver
e) restarted the BI Server
f) accessed the subject area manually created: data are retrieved.
This has been implemented on a testing environment. Anyway the real solution will be either to fix admintool (so it
won't pass a "SELECT FROM <table>" statement, dropping the '*' character, or to deliver a new ODBC driver.
