but the console still just shows 5.9, The customer is requesting the FULL version is displayed so they know exactly what patch level they are on.

customer can see what patch level they are on and we do not have to raise JIRA's from internal OACS teams to check which wastes time

The version information is to help end users and administrators understand the features that have been added and can now be used. We have no plans to change that or to try to represent the internal patching state of the software. There are many components and services and they all have specific information which is internal to their service.
