Having the possibility to paste a list of values in a prompt
Organization Name
Terlato Wines
Description
Having the possibility in DV to paste a list of values directly inside a prompt. Similar to the "edit" list icon in OBIEE classic prompt. This is required for analysts who need to copy a list of invoice numbers for example and paste it into a prompt.
Use Case and Business Need
For example we would need to have an option to copy and paste a list of countries instead of manually select them one by one.

This will be extremely helpful especially with executive demos. Thank you!

I would love to see this feature as well.

Have a predefined list of values instead of have to select them one by one in sometimes needed.

It would definitely match an usual need customers have (and are used to with other tools), to filter based on an external list of items.

This feature is extremely helpful to paste multiple values

This feature would be very useful for DV users.

Suggestion for work around: use an Expression Filter.
Country IN ('Argentina', 'Armenia', 'Australia')
caveat: your users will need to learn the correct syntax. Single quotes, parenthesis, etc.
HTH?

This is probably not an approved solution by Oracle since they are trying to get rid of OBIEE (Classic) dashboards but I have gone with a hybrid approach. I create my DV report and put each canvas as a page on a classic dashboard. I then create a classic dashboard prompt using the same dataset and also put that on the dashboard. That allows you to be able to filter the DV report with the same functionality of classic style. You get the paste list of values option again and you also get to create saved customizations again. A little more work but gives my users the same dashboard experience with some of the enhanced features that DV brings.

Hello @Branden Pavol ,
Do we know this for a fact? ("...they are trying to get rid of OBIEE (Classic) dashboards..."). I have been trying to get an official answer from Oracle about that, without luck so far. Could you please provide a reference to that?
TIA!
I will admit my Google-Fu is not strong enough. Shame on me.
