Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of): HomeServices of America

Description (Required):

Need a Value Selector that will simple dropdown selector that will filter individual visualization. That doesn't contain search bar, null selection, and that can only select one value.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

HomeServices of America is considering using OAC canvasses as splash pages in its portal that will be deployed to several thousand users. The dashboards display various metrics (e.g. pipeline, sales volume, earnings, etc.) aggregated at various temporal levels (e.g. MTD, YTD, Trailing 12 Months, etc.). A selector menu for these values is not currently available in OAC DV. In order to accommodate this in a prototype the OAC DV filter selector was used. However, the functionality was not deemed appropriate for a number of reasons:

(1) Metric Selector Menu - Suppress Search and Vertical Ellipsis - No need for search bar or the vertical ellipsis (options) within the metric selector menu as there aren't that many options. Would like to suppress if possible.

(2) Metric Selector Menu - Null Selection - In the menu selector menu, there is a checkbox to indicate "Null" in the Selection pane which would "break" the visual. "Null" checkbox should be suppressed.

(3) Metric Selector Menu - Always One Value Selected - Need to make sure two measures can't be "selected" at the same time, and cannot have zero measures selected.

(4) Metric Selector Menu - Extend Pane Width - Some of the metric names get cut off in the metric selector menus. Per item #14, if we go with the new measure as each iteration approach, this will necessitate longer, more descriptive names of the measures without cutting them off in the menu.

A purpose-built metric selector should address these issues. A simple dropdown selector would meet the requirement.
