Hi All,

I have applied folder level security in OBIEE. In the shared folder I created one folder and placed my reports into it. Now I have hidden the folder but not its contents.

I have given full access to the folder for all the users, but have restricted the access to reports as per the user's Application Role.

But the reports are not coming in the Shared folder for all the users.

please suggest.

thanks,

Abinash

What happens when you un-hide the folder? Do the reports then work for the users?

If you hide the folder then how should the users access the analyses? Dashboard objects will work but the Catalog interface obviously won't.

    Hi Christian,

    Thanks for your reply.

Actually I have created different folders department wise and placed reports under it. But some users are there who will have the access to reports from other department as well.

So created in this way to achieve it .

    pls suggest any alternate approach.

    regards

    Hi Simon,

    Thanks for ur reply,

I need to show only analysis to the users so i have hidden the folders. If i un-hide the folders, then all the folders will come for all the users, which is not the case.

    regards,

Yes but as a test if you un-hide the folders and all of a sudden things start working then you'll know it's not possible to hide the folder but show the reports this way.

I get your requirement but I was inquiring about the way you want people to be able to access the actual objects.

And also +1 to what Sion said again.
