Essbase connections (most of my DB connects but one wont, and no error log)

I am connecting on prem desktop ODV to on prem Essbase 11.1.2.1 and 11.1.2.4.  Most connections to my cubes are working fine, but one particular database that I have on both environments it seems to connect but then it gives an error 'A general error was found. We've encountered an unexpected error. If the issues persists, please contact support'.  I have looked through known issues and none apply to this connection.  The database is quite large, are there any restrictions on number of dimensions or other sizing constraints? any one else had this problem? thanks.

You can seek to do a standard test. Create a fresh new test application with  a starting point of dimensions(e.g 20 dimensions) and then keep adding dimensions and testing the DVD connect. If it breaks at 24 dimensions then you could also go an log an Oracle SR to get the official position from Oracle.

BY doing the test you rule out that it could be an issue with your application.

I have now found the log path, its giving this message for the database that it is failing to connect to. I am using exactly the same connect credentials as another cube where it works fine. Did you check the logs of DVD to get a more explicit message?
