Yes, so it looks like the problem is with the built in layout editor. Please use rtf as workaround.

I have attached the rtf template.
Now I can see the formatting.
I think the reason why its not showing in our reports is that earlier they have used inline layout.

We found a workaround without changing the layout. In the layout wherever we have this text item, there we first inserted a data table and then dragged and dropped the text field in that table. Then the data is displayed as is in the database.
