Master Detail datasets concept in Data Model- BI Publisher

Summary
Master Detail datasets concept in Data Model- BI Publisher
Content
Hi All,
I am very new to BI Publisher (less than 2 weeks) and was going through the oracle documentation to start building data models in BIP for subsequent reports creation.
While working on sample excel data to get started, I am facing doubts with the basic design concept of the BI Publisher data models.
Can BI Publisher handle more than one master datasets and 1 or more children related to the multiple masters in the same data model?
In other words, is it possible to create a multi dimensional data model (analogous to a cube). As an extension to the same question, would it be possible to create "measures" which can be aggregated over various attributes of any master dataset.
OR is BI Publisher designed to work with one level of a master-detail (basically 2 datasets joined on a key) to have reports which can then group detail by Master attributes.
if there is any documentation or examples you could point me too, I would really appreciate that.
Thanks & Regards,
Anand

+1'000 to Thomas. I think you're looking at the wrong tool here.

I wouldn't advise looking at the Data Models in BIP as similar to OLAP Cubes ... BIP is a pixel perfect reporting engine really useful for mail merges etc ... given your ask about master-detail I'm thinking BIP isn't the right tool for the job. What's the job you are trying to achieve?
